Summer Reading Challenge

For kids in Grades K-12

Share the books you like and
get inspired by other kids' reviews

Guidelines
1
Choose your book from our list of recommended reading titles. If you can't find a book there that interests you, ask your teacher or a friend for recommendations! You can also read other students reviews to get ideas!
2
Read your book and try to pay close attention to things like the plot, the characters, the vocabulary, and other important details. It might be good to take notes or write summaries of chapters as you read so that you can look back on these notes later on!
3
Fill out your book log with the name, author, and a review of your book. Make sure to include a brief summary of the plot without spoilers, your opinions with explanations, and a number rating out of 10 stars.
4
Pick a new book and repeat!
5
Submit as many books as possible by August 25th and earn cool accessories from Kiddy School!
Rules
  • Choose a book from our list or from somewhere else! Friends, teachers, and relatives are great to ask for recommendations!
  • Don't write important spoilers in your reviews. If information spoils the ending or tells a plot twist, we don't want to mention it in a review in case people who read our review decide to read it.
  • Only type in or edit your log. You can and should read other students' logs, but we can see if you make changes to a log that is not your own and it will damage other students' work. If you like someone's review or want to share your ideas with them, tell your teacher and talk about it in class--but don't write on their log.
  • Only log books that you have a) never read before and b) read from start to finish.
  • Write your own original reviews without using the internet. We want to hear your ideas!
